Breaking Boundaries

Volunteer

Time is the most generous gift.

Volunteers are the backbone of everything we do. Whether you can give one afternoon, one skill, one season or ongoing support, there is a place for your time inside this mission.

Why volunteers matter

Opportunity needs people to carry it.

Breaking Boundaries is built around opportunity, but opportunity needs people to carry it.

Volunteers help us welcome families, support young people, run events, mentor participants, create safe environments and bring specialist skills into areas where they can make a lasting difference.

Your time doesn't just fill a gap. It helps build the structure around a young person's next step.

Monthly Support

For recurring help, admin, mentorship or programme support.

Seasonal Support

How it works

How volunteering works.

  1. 01

    Apply

Complete the volunteer form and tell us how you'd like to help.

  2. 02

    Match

We match your time, skills and experience to the right role.

  3. 03

    Screen

Where volunteers may work with young people, we complete appropriate screening and checks.

  4. 04

    Train

You receive role orientation, safeguarding guidance and programme expectations.

  5. 05

    Serve

You step into a clear role with support, structure and communication.

We do not place volunteers into youth-facing roles without appropriate screening, guidance and approval.

Safeguarding, screening & training

Safety comes first.

Because Breaking Boundaries works with young people, volunteering must be structured and responsible.

Youth-facing volunteers may be required to complete screening, provide references, sign a code of conduct, complete orientation and follow safeguarding, anti-bullying, photography, transport and reporting procedures.

This protects participants, families, volunteers and the organisation.

Code of Conduct

Clear behavioural standards for every volunteer.

Screening

Role-appropriate checks before youth-facing involvement.

Training

Orientation on expectations, safeguarding and reporting.

Supervision

Volunteers work within approved roles and reporting structures.

Reporting

A clear process for raising concerns or incidents.

Policies and onboarding procedures are being finalised and will be required before formal placement in youth-facing roles.
