Clear standards protect young people, support parents, guide coaches and volunteers, and help everyone understand what behaviour is expected before, during and after programme activity.

Behaviour and safety principles
The expectations behind the standards.
The following principles summarise the behaviour and safety expectations reflected in the attached documents.
Reporting a concern
Raise it. Record it. Review it.
If a participant, parent, volunteer, coach or official has a safety, bullying, conduct or welfare concern, it should be reported through the correct channel as soon as possible. Concerns are taken seriously and should be handled in a structured, fair and respectful way.
Step 01
Raise the concern
Report the issue to the correct programme contact, coach, team manager or management representative.
Step 02
Record the details
Where appropriate, the concern should be documented with names, dates, description and any relevant context.
Step 03
Review and escalate
The matter should be reviewed and escalated if required, especially where safety, bullying, cyberbullying, repeated behaviour or child welfare is involved.
